Wendy Shattuck
Wendy Shattuck is a native Bostonian who has been active in the support of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy since its inception twenty years ago. As longtime trustee, she has fostered the Conservancy’s mission to preserve and protect the 1100-acre series of green spaces designed by Frederick Law Olmsted between 1878 and the beginning of the twentieth century as a unified system of parks, parkways, ponds, and waterways in Boston and Brookline, Massachusetts. In this capacity, she is responsible for the creation of “The Party in the Park,” an annual event to raise endowment funds. Her many contributions to the Conservancy have been acknowledged by the naming of an historic gatehouse building in the Back Bay Fens as the Shattuck Visitor Center.
